Save-A-Swipe creates a pool of meals that become available to UMBC students who have been identified by trained staff as experiencing food insecurity.
The deadline to donate meals has closed and opens in the first month of each semester. But get excited to donate when the time comes again and spread the word! We need as many as possible, as there is high need.
Students on a meal plan enroll to donate one meal a week (5 or 10 meals per semester) to a shared pool during the open donation window. Those meals will be distributed to students in need after a conversation with our Social Work Intern, to be used in True Grit’s.
